Bayseitova Opera and Ballet Theatre, Astana

The opening of the theater took place in 2000. It was named after an outstanding Kazakh singer Kulyash Bayseitova, in order to perpetuate her memory.

The theater bears traditions of Kazakh and world music culture. Since the very opening of the National Theater its repertoire includes masterpieces of Russian and world musical heritage, as well as new works contributing to the development of opera and ballet genre in Kazakhstan. The first troupe was formed by graduates of the Kazakh National Music Academy, Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, Seleznev Choreographic School of Almaty, GumilevEurasianNationalUniversity, as well as from the perspective, talented artists and experienced dancers.
